Housed in the prestigious venue of the 15th-century Convent of St. Anthony of Padua in Civitaretenga, the hostel offers itself as a place devoted to simple but character-filled hospitality in a spectacular landscape setting, overlooking the Navelli plateau in the direction of Collepietro and surrounded by a crown of mountain peaks.
The hostel is named after the Regio Tratturo, the path of transhumance which, in the L’Aquila-Foggia section, passed right through Civitaretenga/Navelli.
The management of the hostel “Sul tratturo” (reception, linen, breakfast, guests’ needs, guided tours of the village and its surroundings) is taken care of by the Navelli Community Cooperative “Oro Rosso.”
The hostel has 21 beds (five rooms with three single beds, two of which are interconnecting in case of large groups, one room of four singles and one fully furnished double room), women’s and men’s bathrooms, a guest living room, a breakfast space, a multi-purpose hall capable of hosting conventions, conferences, residential schools, workshops, etc.
