Stage 06 (Bike) – Trabocco le Morge – Montenero di Bisaccia

From the Trabocco Le Morge, continue along the coast on the bike path to Lido di Casalbordino; then climb the hill, which is dotted with vineyards, to reach the famous Sanctuary of the Madonna dei Miracoli; from there, it’s a short ride to the town of Casalbordino; from Casalbordino, head east, passing just downstream from the small village of Pollutri and continuing until you cross the Sinello River; From the river, the route turns right along the land reclamation road and then climbs uphill, passing by the rural chapel of San Bernardino, until it reaches a paved road in the center of Monteodorisio, where you pass by the Marian shrine of the Madonna delle Grazie; continue south toward the small town of Cupello; after passing it, head toward the Treste River along a route that continuously winds up and down through hilly terrain, until you reach, via a very steep ascent, the picturesque village of Lentella, dominated by the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta. From Lentella, you tackle the long descent toward the Trigno River, which marks the border between Abruzzo and Molise; after crossing it at the ford known as “Pietra Fracica,” the climb begins on the opposite slope—with some challenging sections—up to the center of Montenero di Bisaccia, where Stage No. 06
