Stage 12 – Roccamontepiano to Guardiagrele

From Roccamontepiano you proceed to the junction for the road that proceeds to Fara F. Petri you follow it for a short distance you turn right then climb to the contrada Sant’Angelo and, in a hilly, gully environment, proceed downstream from the village of Pretoro and then at the foot of the Maiella to Grotta del Colle and the town of Rapino. Past the shrine of Our Lady of Carpineto is the contrada Santa Lucia, on the tratturo, and finally Guardiagrele, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
