From St. Matthew’s Convent we again climb the Gargano, travelling through widely scenic stretches in the typical limestone environment of the promontory, until we descend again to San Giovanni Rotondo, where Padre Pietro of Pietrelcina’s convents and shrines are located and where the saint’s body is venerated.
